The Biomedicine Programme, School of Health Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), in collaboration with the Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University (PSU), Thailand, hosted an international webinar series on "Natural Products and Nanoparticles" via the online platform Cisco Webex. This insightful event aimed to explore the intersection of natural products and nanotechnology, offering participants a comprehensive understanding of the current advancements and potential applications in these fields.

The webinar commenced with an opening speech by Prof. Wan Rosli Wan Ishak, Dean of the School of Health Sciences (PPSK) at USM, followed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pimonsri Mittraparp-Athorn, Assoc. Dean of Academic Affairs & International Relations from the Faculty of Science, PSU, setting a collaborative and enthusiastic tone for the session.

The distinguished speakers for this event were experts from both USM and PSU, each bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience in their respective fields. They discussed various topics related to natural products and nanoparticles, highlighting the innovative research and potential real-world applications of these technologies in healthcare and industry.

Nearly 130 participants, including students, faculty members, and industry professionals, attended the webinar. The session provided an excellent platform for participants to gain valuable insights into the latest developments and trends in natural products and nanotechnology. The speakers also emphasized the importance of interdisciplinary research and encouraged participants to pursue further collaboration in these dynamic fields.

This webinar series was led by chairperson Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohd Dasuki Sul’ain and moderated by the committee members, ensuring a smooth flow of presentations and interactive discussions. The participants actively engaged with the speakers through Q&A sessions, reflecting a high level of interest and enthusiasm.

Overall, the webinar was a great success, providing a rich learning experience and fostering a deeper understanding of natural products and nanoparticles among the participants. Let’s meet again in the second international USM-PSU webinar series, which will be hosted by PSU.
