Comprehensive Vaccine Training Workshop
The workshop 'Comprehensive Training: Primary Cell Culture and Advanced Flow Cytometry Applications for Vaccine Development' was held from 1st to 4th December 2024 at the School of Health Sciences, USM. This workshop was organized by the Biomedicine Programme USM and funded by the National Institute of Biotechnology Malaysia (NIBM) and the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MOSTI) under the National Vaccine Training Program (Latihan Program Vaksin, LPV).
According to the workshop director, Dr. Maryam Azlan, the workshop aimed to provide participants with knowledge to the immunogenicity aspects of vaccine development. The program included lectures, hands-on laboratory sessions, and data analysis for flow cytometry using appropriate software.
The workshop was officiated by Associate Professor Dr. Rapeah Suppian, Deputy Dean of Postgraduate Studies, Career, and International Affairs at the School of Health Sciences USM. Participants included representatives from the Malaysian Nuclear Agency, Malaysian Institute of Pharmaceuticals and Neutraceuticals (IPharm), and USM.
It is hoped that similar workshops can be organized again in the future and continue to receive support from MOSTI and USM.
