FROM USM TO THE GLOBAL STAGE. PPSK STUDENTS SHINE AT ASEAN CULTURAL FORUM IN CHINA
GUIYANG, CHINA | 2 August 2026 – Four students from the Nutrition and Dietetics Programme, School of Health Sciences (PPSK), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) proudly represented USM and Malaysia at the 21st ASEAN and 11th ASEAN+3 Youth Cultural Forum (AYCF) in Guiyang, China, from 28 July to 2 August 2026.
Bringing together 109 delegates from ASEAN and ASEAN+3 countries, the six-day forum was a vibrant celebration of culture, friendship, leadership and youth collaboration.
Our PPSK students joined fellow Malaysian delegates from USM, UKM and UM, working together to showcase the richness of Malaysia’s multicultural heritage on the international stage.
From experiencing traditional Chinese dance, calligraphy, paper cutting, painting, musical instruments and martial arts to sharing Malaysian culture at the International Cultural Bazaar, every moment was an opportunity to learn, connect and build new friendships.
And one moment truly stood out. Students from USM, UKM and UM came together for a special Cultural Night performance that celebrated Malaysia’s multicultural identity, receiving enthusiastic appreciation from guests, university representatives and fellow international delegates.
For Atifah Nabilah, a second-year Nutrition and Dietetics student, the AYCF was also her first international travel experience, a journey that expanded her cultural horizons, built her confidence and created memories that will last a lifetime.
This is what global education looks like. This is what student leadership looks like. This is what happens when talent, culture, friendship and opportunity come together.
Congratulations to our four PPSK students for representing USM and Malaysia with pride and distinction. You didn’t just travel to China.You carried the spirit of Malaysia with you and brought the world a little closer together.
