USM–UMM DISCOVER NEW HORIZONS IN NURSING

The Nursing Programme, School of Health Sciences (PPSK), Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), today welcomed a delegation from Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), Indonesia, in an effort to strengthen academic networks and international collaboration between the two institutions.

The UMM delegation comprised Henik Tri Rahayu, S.Kep.Ns., MS., PhD., Vice Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Pharmacy; Nur Aini, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., Ph.D., Head of Nursing (Academic); and Anis Ika Nur Rohmah, S.Kep., Ns., M.Kep., Sp.Kep.MB., Head of Nursing (Profession).

The delegation was welcomed by the Dean of PPSK, Prof. Dr. Wan Rosli Wan Ishak, together with members of the PPSK Nursing Programme. The visit served as a platform for bilateral discussions to explore potential areas of collaboration in research, student mobility, expertise sharing and nursing education.

The UMM delegation also visited the PPSK Nursing Skills Laboratory to explore the teaching and learning facilities as well as the skills training environment provided for USM nursing students.
The visit is expected to serve as a catalyst for closer strategic ties between USM and UMM, while opening up greater opportunities for international mobility, joint research, knowledge and expertise exchange, and the advancement of nursing education in the future.
