Let’s Be Healthy Without Vape and Cigarettes

The Jom Sihat Tanpa Vape Program was an initiative by Year 1 and Year 2 Bachelor of Medical Radiation students enrolled in the elective course GEG 218 Community Development in Health Promotion. Led by Nursakinah Mohammad Khir and supervised by Dr. Rohani Ismail, the program was held on 17 June 2025 at SMK Badang, Pengkalan Chepa, involving 35 university students and 150 Form Two students.

The main objective was to raise awareness and empower school students regarding the dangers of vaping and smoking to mental and physical health. This issue has become increasingly concerning due to industry tactics that attract teenagers.

Activities included a talk, interactive exhibitions, games and quizzes at five stations, as well as scrapbook-making. The university students applied classroom knowledge to the community through creative approaches. The program also enhanced skills in communication, leadership, teamwork, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Furthermore, it supported the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of Good Health and Well-Being and Quality Education, delivering a positive impact on both students and the community.
