14th Malaysian of Biomedical Science Symposium

14th Malaysian Symposium of Biomedical Science

A total of 33 Biomedicine Program students from years 2 to 4 participated in the 14th Malaysian Symposium of Biomedical Science, held on 1-2 June 2024 at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Serdang, Selangor. The symposium featured four main categories, with 11 presenters from year 4 achieving significant success by winning three awards for best poster and oral presentations in different categories. The winners were:

  • Muizzuddin Bin Jamaluddin, who secured 1st place in the poster presentation for the natural product category.
  • Amar Harris Bin Arifin, who won 2nd place in the poster presentation for the therapeutic and diagnostic category.
  • Lee Choon Yung, who achieved 3rd place in the oral presentation for the natural product category.

Congratulations to all the winners!

This symposium was specifically designed for biomedicine undergraduate students to present their work, enhancing their interpersonal skills and communication. Participants included students from various universities such as UTAR, UKM, UPM, Monash, Taylor's University, and many more, which may lead to increased networking and the sharing of new ideas. The event successfully achieved its objectives. Special thanks to the support of five lecturers who attended the symposium, including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wan Amir Wan Ahmad, who was invited as a speaker for the Forum on Natural Products.
