Under the leadership of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Community Network) (TNC BJIM), Universiti Sains Malaysia’s Institutional Sustainability Division has taken the lead in promoting sustainability, particularly through the introduction of the innovative green office concept. This initiative encourages all PTJs to contribute to fostering a culture of sustainability across the university.

In alignment with this, the School of Health Sciences is actively adopting and implementing the five core components of the green office. The school is dedicated to identifying and applying the most effective strategies for advancing sustainable development on campus and beyond. This includes engaging staff, students, and the wider community in promoting sustainability through education and research activities.

Guided by the USM-APEX blueprint, Transforming Higher Education for a Sustainable Tomorrow , which advocates for systemic institutional adoption of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD), the School of Health Sciences integrates these principles into its operations. Through focused research, community outreach, and the active involvement of students and staff, the school plays a pivotal role in driving USM’s sustainability agenda.

By promoting sustainability within and outside the campus, the School of Health Sciences ensures that the principles of sustainability are deeply embedded in its practices, contributing significantly to the success of the green office initiative and the broader goals of USM’s sustainability policy.
