Health Sciences Symposium 2022
Health Sciences Symposium brings the theme “Strengthening Research in Health Sciences Addressing Challenges and Opportunities”. This time symposium was led by Associate Professor Dr. Hasmah Abdullah with the support from the best collaborative team from the organising committee in succeeding the Health Sciences Symposium 2022 (HSS2022).
The symposium took place over two days, August 24 and 25, 2022 (Wednesday & Thursday). Organised by the School of Health Science, Universiti Sains Malaysia in collaboration with the Institute for Social Science Studies (IPSAS), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) and Faculty of Health Sciences, Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA). This symposium aimed to provide attendees and presenters with a vast array of resources and information as they exchanged and shared their experiences and research discoveries in the field of health sciences, particularly those that had been undertaken during the COVID-19 epidemic.
One keynote lecture and three plenary sessions were presented by distinguish speakers with the respective title to address current obstacles which obviously had interrupted the research activities and spirit to conduct research among the researchers. There were four research clusters provided for oral and poster presentations covering broad field of health sciences (life sciences, strategies in disease control, human investigation science and wellness). This symposium had wrapped up with a successful participation from various higher learning institutions in Malaysia with the total of 83 presenters and 23 ordinary participants. The extended abstract presented at HSS 2022 by the poster and oral presenters will be peer evaluated, published in the current issue of the Asian Journal of Medicine and Biomedicine (AJMB) in 2022. Winners for poster and oral presenter under four clusters were announced at end of the event.
