1st International Symposium on Essential Oils, Plants, Cosmetics, and Health (ISEPCoH 2023)

USM, KUBANG KERIAN, KELANTAN, 11 September 2023 – Committed to bring together scholars and experts in the fields of essential oils, plant science, cosmetics and health to unravel challenges and new discoveries while charting a path towards holistic well-being, the School of Health Sciences (PPSK) , Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in collaboration with Universitas Andalas, Indonesia organized the '1st International Symposium of Essential Oils, Plants and Health 2023 (ISEPCoH 2023)'. Led by Assoc Prof. Dr. Mohd Dasuki Sul’ain and with vital support from Dr.-Ing. Ir. Uyung Gatot Syafrawi Dinata, M.T., the symposium attracted 105 attendees from diverse countries, including Malaysia, China, Iraq, Indonesia, Nigeria, Pakistan, and Somalia, as well as various institutes and companies. Distinguished speakers and 86 presenters enriched the event with oral and poster presentations. Generous sponsorship from Rezenn, I-Medikel, and HerbXpress (FRIM) significantly contributed to the symposium's success. The symposium's theme, "Emerging Natural Resources for Better Health," fostered collaboration, with participants engaging in robust knowledge exchange and discussions, transcending geographical boundaries. Concurrently, the University Health Innovation Carnival (Karnival Inovasi Kesihatan Universiti; KIKU) featured numerous institutes and companies. ISEPCoH 2023 extended beyond a mere gathering, offering opportunities for professional growth, field collaborations, and industry involvement in essential oils, plants, cosmetics, and health sectors. Appreciation is extended to all contributors, including the Director of Health Campus, the Dean of the School of Health Sciences, speakers, sponsors, and committee members. ISEPCoH 2023 was a remarkable international symposium that united global experts and enthusiasts in essential oils, plants, cosmetics, and health, anticipating ongoing collaborations and innovation in these vital fields.
