PROKOMAAT 2025

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT & ACADEMIC MOBILITY VISIT TO SATUN, THAILAND

The Program Komuniti & Amal Antarabangsa (PROKOMAAT 2025) was successfully conducted as a collaborative initiative organized by the Biomedical Program, School of Health Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM).

The visit began with an opening speech by the principal of the local madrasah, ULMUL Hashanah, followed by a welcoming address from the Program Director, Associate Professor Dr. Dasuki Mohd Sul’ain. The program commenced with the giving of sedekah to the underprivileged and the madrasah community, followed by a series of impactful educational activities. These included language and cultural exchange sessions to introduce aspects of Malaysian identity, as well as demonstrations on basic hygiene practices such as handwashing and toothbrushing.

As a gesture of appreciation, the madrasah community warmly hosted the delegation with a locally prepared lunch, strengthening bonds of mutual respect and cultural understanding.

On the following day, the program continued with an academic mobility session at Songkhla Rajabhat University (SKRU). This session provided a platform for academic exchange and discussions on future collaborations in research and innovation between the two institutions.

PROKOMAAT 2025 left a lasting impression on all committee members and participants. Memorable highlights included the warm hospitality of the local community, scenic visits to the beaches of Satun, delightful local cuisine, and a comfortable stay at selected hotels. The experience was both enriching and inspiring, reinforcing future collaborations and community outreach initiatives.
