OVERVIEW
Master of Science (Forensic Science) Mixed Mode Programme is offered to produce forensic professionals to meet the demand of forensic science practitioners and law enforcement agencies. Based on the inputs from key stakeholders, forensic practitioners, academics and stringent benchmarking against renowned forensic science institutions both locally and internationally, this programme has been designed to allow prospective candidates to specialise in various fields of forensic science.
This programme will equip prospective candidates with current knowledge, techniques and essential skills in forensic science which will be assimilated through well-designed theoretical and practical sessions. It also serves as a platform for prospective candidates to pursue PhD in forensic science.
Curriculum Structure:
Taught courses - 20 units
Research Project - 20 units

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
i. | Bachelor of Science (Forensic Science, Biology, Chemistry, Health Science or other related and recognised degree) with CGPA ≥ 2.75; OR |
ii. | Bachelor degree as in section (i) with CGPA 2.50-2.74 AND research experience OR working experience in related field for at least one (1) year OR one (1) academic publication in the field applied for OR obtained at least a B in major courses OR at least B+ in final year research project; OR |
iii. | Bachelor degree as in section (i) with CGPA 2.49-2.00 AND research experience OR working experience in related field for at least five (5) years AND one (1) academic publication in the field applied for OR obtained at least a B in major courses OR at least B+ in final year research project. |
LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS
(Applicable for International Applicants Only)
i. | A minimum score of 550 in TOEFL (Test of English as a foreign language) (paper- based); OR |
ii. | A minimum score of 213 on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)(computer-based);or A minimum score of 80 on the TOEFL (Test of English as a foreign language)(internet-based); OR |
iii. | A minimum score of 6.0 in IELTS (International English Language Testing System); OR |
iv. | English is the candidate’s mother tongue or National Language; OR |
v. | The candidate graduated from an Institution of Higher Learning in which the medium of instruction at Bachelor and Master level is English; OR |
vi. | English courses offered by British Council. (The level of qualification and the relevant courses are to be identified by the University Postgraduate Studies Council); OR |
vii. | English courses offered by School of Languages, Literacies and Translation (The level of qualification and the relevant courses are to be identified by the University Postgraduate Studies Council); OR |
viii. | English courses from selected Malaysian public/private university or institution. (The level of qualification and the relevant courses should be previously identified and approved by the University Postgraduate Studies Council). |
